How to Launch a WordPress Blog
It’s one thing to create a website, and another to find a web hosting partner who will launch it on the internet and make sure that it stays live 24/7. However, for Bluehost, building a website should be as hassle-free as possible, especially if you’re keen on creating a website through WordPress.
Bluehost and WordPress’ history goes way back in early 2000s. And so it’s not that surprising that they’ve decided to work together as a content management system and web hosting company. Their partnership is music to any individual’s ears as they make the website creation process so much easier.
In this article, we will detail the step by step process of creating a WordPress site through Bluehost. And no, there’s no need to worry about databases or FTPs because this process will be fast and easy.
Step 1: Go to the BlueHost website and click, “Get Started Now”.
To jumpstart the website creation process, simply click the green button on the screen.
Step 2: Select Your Plan
In order to create a website, you need to select one of the three plans that Bluehost offers. They currently offer “basic” ($3.95/month), “plus” ($6.95/month), and “pro” ($14.95/month). Among the three options, “Plus” takes the cake as the most popular, but if you want unlimited space with Global CDN features, “Pro” would be the more suitable option.
Step 3: Use existing/Create domain
After choosing your plan, it’s time to select your domain. In this stage, you are given two options: to create a new domain which comes with your plan, or choose “transfer domain” and choose your existing domain, if you have any.
Step 4: Fill in Account Information page
The Account Information page contains blanks seeking for your personal information (such as name, business name, address, phone number, and email address).
Step 5: Package Information
After filling in your personal information, Bluehost will then ask about your package information. How long will your account plan span? 12 months? 24 months? 36 months?
In this stage, Bluehost also suggests other services such as Domain Privacy Protection, Site Backup Pro, Search Engine Jumpstart, and SiteLock Security-Find. Once you’ve finished selecting your account plan and other services you want to avail, click “Next”.
Step 6: Billing Information
This is where you give your card information. The page asks for Card Type, Credit Card Number, Expiration Date, and Signature/CVV2 Code. Once you’ve completed giving your billing information, you will then be asked to create a password for your account. The password can be created by the website owner or through the Password Generator for maximum security.
Step 7: CPanel
After successfully completing all the necessary information for the website, you’ll be redirected to Bluehost’s CPanel. In this page, you can find the “website” section where different website creation options are located. This will then redirect you to the Mojo Marketplace where you can find a pop-up about the installation. To install WordPress, click “Install WordPress” and then “Install”. Wait for WordPress to be fully installed.
After installing WordPress, specify the domain on which you want to install WordPress on.
Once the installation is done you can then head over to your WordPress dashboard, and start blogging!
